I saw a domain with adsense had this variable in his adsense code.
It seems it was using it to pass the city and region names.
What is it? I don't see it in my adsense panel!

That's a feature only available to Adsense Premium Partners as I understand it.

It was previously used as an aid for some (or all?) premium publishers to assist is displaying more relevant ads.

I could very well be wrong, but i don't think Google is using that specific method anymore... and that publisher may not have updated their code.

It isn't just for premium people. I have it on my sites and im not premium althought I can make over $10k a day on Adsense.

When I was at top 15 website, we had Google premium and we could specify the EXACT words we wanted, not just hints. Oh, and the payout was 3 times as good.

As a friendly reminder to everyone, google_hints should only be used by publishers who've received permission from the AdSense team to do so- in most cases, for beta testing purposes. Otherwise, it's against AdSense policy to modify your ad code in this manner.

"$10k a day on Adsense."?

How many sites? 1000, 2000? :)
