Does yahoo or msn have an "adsense" program like google

I read this in a forum, about someone getting banned after making 50 dollars a day using adsense. Is it really this easy to get banned? If so, I would like to know if there are alternatives in case of getting banned. I have no reason to worry, but it seems that this person got banned for something that was not his fault. He was basically making 2-3 dollars a day, then a few weeks later, was making 30-50 dollars a day. Google responded to him like this:

AdSense account. Please understand that this step was taken in an
effort to protect the interest of the AdWords advertisers.

tools, or any other deceptive software.

The person emailed google again saying he did not have any knowledge of fraudulent clicks and received this reply:

By disabling your account, we feel that we have taken the necessary
measures to ensure that invalid clicks will not continue to occur on your
site.

We understand that you wish to receive specific information regarding the
invalid clicks we have observed. Due to the proprietary nature of our
monitoring system, we cannot disclose any specific details of these
clicks. We would like to reassure you, however, that we have thoroughly
re-reviewed your account data upon receipt of your response and have
reconfirmed that invalid clicks were generated on the ads on your site.
According to our policy on this matter, we have disabled your account in
order to protect our advertisers.

As outlined in our program Terms and Conditions, Google reserves the right
to terminate any publisher's participation at any time.

After reading this I started to wonder why this guy got banned. I do have to admit, that it does seem like a big jump, 2$ a day to 50$ a day in a few weeks. I am working hard on my site from scratch, and I get about 600 unique visitors a day now, but I get nowhere near that much money per day. Do you think this guy is not telling the whole story? Or do you really think he was honest, and still got banned?

So my question is, even if you are honest, how can you avoid getting banned? If I receive massing jump in dollars per day, and lets say it is permanent, should I simply be cautious and take down my ads, and ask Google whats up?

If someone ever does get banned, what other programs are similar to googles adsense? I like to take precautions.

my earnings of late have increased quite a bit....i send an email to google every time i predict a huge increase in traffic and so far so good.

I'd say he was actually doing something... My site was featured in a big email newsletter at some point, and i went from x to 10x per day for a week or so (with corresponding rises in impressions); I got an email inquiring about the rise, I pointed them to the newsletter link, and all was good.
