New Site Up

Does it take a bit for google to display proper ads?

Hey,

I just put up a new homepage for my site using the 250x250 3 ad spot ads, and I noticed that it was just one big PSA.

I have no problems with PSA's because I think they are for a good cause.

Anyways, I kept refreshing a couple times and then I waited. I went back 10 mins later and refreshed... Still PSA ads. Then bam, all 3 ads start getting taken up with relevant advertisers.

Is there a period upon starting a site that Google has to determine what the site is about, so it shows PSA ads?

BTW, when I was testing it offline in my template it would show ads straight through, no PSA's.

All the Best,

C.K.

The same thing happens to me quite a bit when I publish new pages. I think it just takes a bit of time for mediabot to come and check you out. :)

You can invite mediabot more quickly if you visit all the new files and refresh a few times. :)

It surely worked for me. Within a few minutes, targetted ads showed up.

Indeed, works for me too.
But when I publish new content mostly I get ads that are targeted to what Google thinks of being the general theme of my site. After a while they get replaced by targeted ads.

Agree with Zygoot

If there are no site-targeted ads from the beginning on the new pages, that may indicate that G can not properly understand general theme of the site, or there are multiple themes.
