Interesting TOS violation

Today I was reading the newsgroup mn.forsale and found a most interesting way to violate the TOS. The post was on 3/5 or 3/6 and was trying to help us "partner with google". Haven't seen that method yet.

Was there an AdSense ad on the newsgroup? If so, that by itself is a TOS violation.

Might it have been a come on for the Google Referral Program? Not sure what phrasing you're allowed to use or where you can promote it, but it might be legit.
