I have just downloaded and overwritten 7.11 and I was pretty sure that ads were showing with 7.11 but they're not showing with this latest beta of the Opera browser. Could this be the sign of things to come?... browser(s) (or in this case Opera) coded to block ads from the likes of Google? Maybe just my settings. I can cannot find what I could change in Opera, but I'm just using their default settings. I test sites with the latest of IE, NS and Opera. No problems with IE6 and NS7.1.

Have a good weekend, 3pm Friday in New Zealand.

Google's AdSense ads were down completely for a while today. Is it possible that you were testing Opera 7.20b at the time of the outage? You might want to try again, just in case.

I did have the three browsers up, and just couldn't see any ads the Opera browser. I'll go check again though, as yes, I could have just been caught out thinking it was so. Cheers.

Some sites are still not displaying AdSense, and will give a javascript error.

There is a long list of what browsers AdSense works in, as well as the different platforms for each broswer on the AdSense Technical FAQ page:

It does work. It must have been the outage giving me funny pages. But I have noticed something with this Opera beta and Google's ads: They appear to hover for a moment, when you use the scroll bar or go page up, page down.

Grant - this happens for me in Opera 6.05 running on a virtual machine with Flash animations - I think it's a rendering issue - the html renders faster than the script, so when you scroll, the html moves nicely but the script hangs for a second...

I think Adsense have had problems today - about 50% of the time they show on my site (not had any problem in the past).. other 50% of the time they dont show up

... so may have been just bad time to test Opera!

anyone else noticed this today?
