I've just signed up and can foresee a few problems.

I live outside the USA in a country where the mail system is very iffy. To get around this we have a mail drop in Miami with a forwarding company that sends all our mail to us.

When I tried to register I used our US mail drop however had to revert to our real address because of phone number and potential tax registration problems.

Once everything is set up can I use my US mail drop to receive my cheques? If not it is likely they will never arrive.

The other question is what is your experience on placing the ads - top, left or right side or bottom?
Which works best in most cases?

Appreciate the help.

I don't think you can change your mailing address country after you have signed up for adsense (for tax reasons I believe).

You may need to open a dialogue with Google Adsense to see what would be best for your situation, and to see if you need to close your account and signup again using your Miami forwarding service address.

There is no definitive answer as to which works best in most cases.

Each site layout and coloring is different and the performance for one site is completely different for the performance on another site (with a different layout and type of visitors).

The best thing to do is just use the channels and do your own testing of the different locations available on your site and go with what works best for you.

Thanks for the answer Rodney.

The problem I have with trying to register with the US address is that they want a phone number which, of course, needs a country code, etc and they wouldn't accept that.

Then if I were successful registering that way they would eventually want a tax number or US SS number, which I don't have as I'm not an American.

I guess I'll go through the process and then try and resolve it later.
