When the whole AdSense Frenzy happened I applied my site for the AdSense program but was rejected :( Today I received an e-mail to notify me that my application has been revisted and I've been accepted. The site in question was a SEO oriented web site.

'We have activated your account and hope that you are still interested in being a part of AdSense.' I am kinda excited but feel like im second class ;) Has anyone else experienced this, are they accepting other people who were rejected?

If anyone has a borderline site then now is the time to apply

Quite a few people who were initially rejected did an email to Google request review and were subsequently approved.

Google going back on their own however, is something I haven't heard of before.

No request was sent unless i replied saying 'You Suck!' which was my initial responce upon being rejected but I doubt I sent it. :P

Well, maybe someone's boss at Google said "You suck!" to the employee who rejected you the first time around. :-)

That is really interesting. As there have been many AdSense frenzies, it seems, how long ago was it you applied? Back in June?

That could equal a lot of rejected AdSense applications they are going through. I wonder what criteria was changed that is now allowing previously rejected sites. Or perhaps there has been a decline in applications now, and they are trying to up the numbers for whatever reason.

When I first tried to join up to adsense they rejected me, so I waited about 2 weeks then tried again with another email address and I got in ;)

Congrats EliteWeb!

>Rejection

Does anybody had a site penalized at the standard google after adsense application-rejection? I'm still not convinced if it's safe to try to get a specialized search engine /directory listed ... i know they don't allow search result pages to display adsense ads but the site in question is so huge and offers a lot of content beside the search engine /directory that i would like to try a application. The site is doing great at google (since more than two years) but i'm worried that google could penalize it to avoid the growth of other (even niche) search engines. I don't expect that this is google's behaving - but one never knows. Bad experiences anybody? Is there any relation between adsense rejection and standard serp positioning after rejection? No conspiracy theories please - just facts if there are any ... ;)

Why not try applying with a website that is a safe bet?

You could then gradually introduce your adsense code onto other domains controlled by you.

[google.com...]

Although, I take your point re: your current good rankings.

The question is though, are your existing good rankings delivering a ROI? If they are not, then (PR passed to other domains aside) you stand to lose very little if you are booted.

If you are earning good money from the domain already, then why risk it for a few pennies more?

Perhaps its an idea to email google with a hypothetical and see if they respond.

Good luck

We also monitor all sites in AdSense to ensure that all pages displaying AdWords ads comply with our program policies.

I guess if the adsense robot would find and flag a site that is either full or semi against their tos, they'll likely boot the site ... maybe even from the main google index ... I would like to go the honest way instead, but - as so often in the business world - i'm afraid that my honesty won't do any good to me.

>are your existing good rankings delivering a ROI

Oh yes! :)

>If you are earning good money from the domain already,

I spent A LOT of work into developing the site(s) and even if there's currently no high monetary income, it's the most important way to brand and promote my offline goods (print). OTOH, i suppose i could generate some good income through adsense - not just pennies ...

... so my fingers itch. ;)

my first and only application to adsense was rejected.

I shrugged it off and forgot about it. about a week later, google emailed me saying I was accepted.

So yes, this has happened before, and yes, it seems to be standard procedure since the very start of adsense, because my application was submitted when adsense originally started up.

hth.

I thought I had replied to this topic. Perhaps not.

I was accepted with Adsense on my 3rd try with my 3rd e-mail address of course. I think what did it for me was finally achieveing a decent PR of 4 after being stuck at zero for a long time.
