Is it possible to work out the ROI by keyword if someone clicks an Adsense ad?

If it's an Adsense ad, then the source is always Adwords.

Not sure what you mean exactly. "ROI" is an economic concept, related to running a business over a longer period of time. It's not something you can compute for a single click.

ROI is related to what you want to relate it to. Can be a project, individual click, group of clicks, whatever.

I'm not completely sure I understand what you're trying to do, but it sounds like you should be doing it by setting up channels.
