Keyword filtering

We can filter URLs, why not also keywords?

On one of my sites, I am seeing ads for a product that many of my site visitors might find offensive.

I have tried applying the URL filter in a futile attempt to block ads for that product. There always seem to be other unfiltered advertisers of that product showing up to take their place.

In a perfect world, we could filter on keywords/key phrases in addition to filtering URLs.

So I would add to my keyword filter list:

<name of offensive product>

and by that single entry just be done with the problem.

I could then retract all the URL filters. If those advertisers want to advertise some other product, fine and dandy.

How about it Google?

I would second that!

I find it's a particular problem with information pages where it is sometimes difficult to avoid including unwanted keywords in the text.

I should think that if by registering a single keyword/keyphrase I can unregister many different advertiser URLs, this would lighten Google's computational load.

In fact, I would find keyword filtering to be much more useful than URL filtering. (To lighten the computational load, all might agree that the keyword filter should be applied to the ad headline only, not also to the ad text.)

Again, how about it Google?
