hello, i posted a question about my adsense in a previous post, but i broke terms of service by posting my url (apologies). Basically what i found out is that my colors were whacked i since then changed them to something way more visable. My question is this though, my content in adsense is pretty much looking at two words, arkansas and blog. this is odd to me. in blogger, my content is being posted into a colum using a code by the name of <$BlogItemBody$>. Does anyone know if using this effects the type of adds that adsense can use? i also have a crap load of links it should pick these up right? I realize that making a standalone site about a static type of information would probly give me the most traffic, but my site is geared toward the college students on my campus. i have had about 100 hits in 3 days. How can i get adsense to make "college" related ads on my site?

Figure out which topics your readers would be most interested in reading about and write entries about those topics, using your keywords frequently. Edit your link list so that you have links to only sites about those topics. Give preference to links that have your keywords in them.

I'd say that you're fighting a losing battle, though. Most blogs I've seen show ads about blogging. It's possible to get ads about your topic--but only if you stay on topic and (since I've seen your site) possibly change your domain name. Being on a dedicated blogging site just makes it harder to convince Google that your blog isn't about blogging.

lol a losing battle, great i made this with the promise of actually making revenue through it (somewhat anyway). Why is it that google promotes free google adsense to all blogger users if all they can show through it are "blogging" ads. Isnt there an option to block specific urls in blogger? would this help?

Check the AdSense example sites for a weblog that, at least at the time, was making good money through AdSense.
