I once had a page that so confused Google that Google wouldn't even try to show garbage ads; it just showed PSAs. I added links, I added an h1 tag, I added text... Nothing. Then I changed the page's file name from bluewidgets.htm to blue-widgets.htm. (Google "sees" the hyphen as a space, you see.) The mediabot said, "Oh, you mean the page is about /widgets/?" and served spot-on ads. So you see, just a tiny adjustment can make a huge difference.
Check your text for words that may inadvertently be attrackting the wrong ads. Remove those, or replace them with synonyms. Assuming these are not your SEO targets, of course.
