Has anyone thrived?

Howdy.

Have you guys and gals been successful with AdSense ads on forums? More specifically, on sites that are pretty much solely based around a forum?

I would think that it might be hard to get clicks since many people will be return visitors and won't be inclined to keep clicking ads, but I can't say for sure. Is my prediction right?

That actually just talks about a strategy that the publisher thought got more clicks, but it didn't. I'm asking others about their success with AdSense on forums. It's a different topic...

If the forum serves a purpose where people can find information, it will succeed. But if the forum is just a meeting place where members just "shoot the sh#t" about anything and everything it will fail. I've seen both.

There have been quite a few threads about varying success of Adsense on forums.

Here's a quick google search of webmasterworld that shows some topics that are exactly what you're talking about [google.com].
