After 9 years on the net I decided to do some PPC so Google Adsense here I am.

There's isn't that much support on the site so if anyone with long GAS experience can answer a few basic questions

1. How often does the stats update? Hourly or?

2. How is GAS for Forums? I noticed the front door of a new site had perfect ads for the index page, but once inside the forum the ads stink

3. Can you specify what ads show on your site?

4. What is average CPM running with GAS

Thanks

Ok, to answer my own question, it seems to be about an hour before new stats are available.

First hour 103 views 6 Clicks 2.14 CPM .22 Earnings

Time to get to work, those stats were just from a couple of my sites, with over 300 content sites in my network I got to get busy adding GAS

I didn't want to do a ton of sites before I saw their stats

Looks like a new revenue stream for me

1.- Stats usually run around 24 hours behind real time. This can vary a lot!

2.- Depends on the forum. You probably wont start getting ads until MediaBot indexes the page, so new pages often run PSAs until indexed. (Make sure you have an alt ad specified so as not to waste this dead time).

3.- No. You can however block certain advertisers, and by judicious tweaking of your page content you can nudge Adsense one way or another.

4.- Impossible to say. It depends on what industry you're in, and what the bids for those keywords are.

BTW - when you signed up to Adsense you signed a confidentiality clause in which you agreed to not to disclose data about your earnings.

Good luck, Adsense can be worth it!

There have been a few really detailed threads on using AdSense on forums lately, this should give you a start:
