Wow I'm almost there all I need is four more 0's per month. I have just gotten back into web desighn, and it still amazes me how much some people can earn. Reading about peoples success stories really helps keep me going in these first few months. I would have givin up already if it wasn't for all the help and support webmaster world gives.

It is no longer the FedEx club, it has been the UPS club since last year (the fall, I believe).

Omg! $10k per month?! Obviously it is possible as there are people in the club, but well, how?! A couple of hundred $ a month is possible but, I have no idea how you could get that much a month.

I've been reading all the tips etc etc, but that just seems to me an impossible amount to reach. I am guessing that these people have multiple sites based on the highest paying keywords. Surely these must be made for adsense sites and are not heavy in actual content?

Wow. Well congrats to anyone in that club!

There's more making that kind of money that you think. AdSense can be lucrative, but to earn big money you need to be in a money keyword sector with a good site heavily loaded with content that gets good traffic.

I know of one UPS/FedEx/Whatever member that only has one site.

If you have a good site with a lot of traffic then it shouldn't be a problem. Some people quit their job and become self employed to concentrate even more on making websites, and earning big bucks with Adsense and affiliate programs.

If you have lets say 100,000 unique visitors a day on a website (except fun/entertainment sites) then it is very possible to earn 10k a month.

Well I am in awe to you guys who are manage to get that much a month. I think to myself it must be a completely different world where people think "Hmm, maybe I should give up my job because I am earning so much with Adsense"!

Ah well, if I squint at the total amount earned maybe I can pretend to see another couple of 0's =)

I'm not earning 10k a month (but I might reach that level within a few months if my growth continues).

Until a few months ago I barely earned 1k a month with all my advertising programs, but during the last few months I spent a lot of time adding new content and improving my website and my total earnings have fivefold.

But I don't think that everyone has success stories like these. Many people are earning below $100 a month or are between $100 - $500. I'm just lucky I think.

I hope to be able to increase it even more, my dream is to be able to buy ground, build a house and buy a car within a few years without needing to go in debt. (just dreaming)

We finally hit the UPS club in January, by adding lots of unique content over the last year. Now if we can just remain a member in good standing everything will be great!

Makes you want to go out and by a t-shirt that says I am a proud member of the UPS Club!

Have a good niche site (it doesn't have to be in a high-paying keyword) and get about 100,000 page impressions a day. Follow the instructions posted in several threads about the best way to display Adsense
- large box, centred at the top middle of the page with whitespace on either side.
- dark text on a white background with regular blue hyperlinks
- no border
- a minimum of any other advertising on the page

Get to there and you'll either be in the UPS club, or know what you need to do to get there.

Have a good niche site ... and get about 100,000 page impressions a day.

That's trickier than it looks. :)

What are the benefits of the UPS club? Is it a real club?

No. It's just a term for publishers who earn enough to get checks sent to them by UPS.

Of course 100,000 page impressions a day is hard, but that's probably what you should aim for. Oh yeah, and my friends say I'm a classic oversimplifier.

My point was the clash of "niche" and "large traffic". If it gets 100K a day some would say it doesn't qualify as a niche at all.

I have to laugh...It is fathomable!

We have a fairly popular content site that generates a fair amount of clicks on its way to UPS club. I recently started another content site (thinking the keywords would be around the same amount) and realized the keywords are coming in at about $1.90 per click!

After doing the math I realized that if the keywords on our popular site were worth that amount we would be brining in about $67,000 per month!

DAAAAAAAANG!

My recommendation is to diversify your revenue programs. Don't just use Adsense. Experiment with affiliate programs that fit with your site. I think the quickest way to 10k/month is not through Adsense alone. They will help you get there, but if I had the choice, I would much rather be making 10K and have it coming from 4-5 different programs. The more programs you use, the more stability you will have in your income.

>>I would much rather be making 10K and have it coming from 4-5 different programs.

Everyone would. People seem to repeat this without any suggestion of ways to split that income among different sources.

The choice isn't between making $10K from one program vs making 10K from a combo of 5 programs. The question is - do you take a chance on $10K from one source or split it up with $2,000 from one source and $50 from a combination of 4 others?

You don't need 100,000 page views or 10,000 visitors a day. It can be done for a fraction of those numbers with good content and basic SEO techniques.

Also, there are 100's of keywords that will bring great EPC (>$1.00), and they seem to be increasing in number each month.

As for the keywords... besides thinking of what people are buying - don't forget about what companies are buying - there is a lot of EPC there.

- large box, centred at the top middle of the page with whitespace on either side.

I can vouch for this technique, as I finally changed my site's AdSense to this format last week. CTR rose dramatically, and have stayed at that level ever since!

Though I think that my site doesn't look as nice as it did before doing this, the extra income more than overcomes my aesthetic concerns.

I checked out universetoday's site, and yeah the box ad does look funny with white space on either side! But if CTR goes up, good on ya!

What 5 programs?

I even do not know 2 programs.

Affliant programs work most time in the way, that people follow the link, go to their car and buy it in the next shop.

I cicked an affliant program for panorama software after 1 year and 0 earnings. Oh, people using this software like to talk, they follow the link, and after this, they make a phone call to purchase it.

Now AdSense pays on this page as much as I would have sold 1 item per month in tha affliate program.

My bigest experience was a medicine company.
I made for them about 100 pages German and 100 pages English for a special medical treatment product.

7% from 10.000 EUR per item should make my living.

But doctors have no time to search the web...
Most time, patients visit the web site, but they
can not pruchase, can be only sold to certified doctors and is much to expensive.

So the patients go to thir doctor.
"Did You hear about the new treatment"

Some month later comes a traveling salesman
to the doctor. Look, I have a new treatment system

The doctor remembers, 3 patients have already
asked him for this new product and signs immedeately the purchase contract.

Great! 115.200 visitors from search engines asking for this special treatment since 2001, and not a single 7% sales commission.

When I imagine this could have been half a million ad impressions with $10 CPM ( I assume high prices in this medical sector )...

Ways to diversify,
Make a quality content site, steer loads of targeted traffic...wa la :)

Income 1 - Allow paying advertisers (Paid text/graphics ads)

Income 2 - Affiliate programs ( pay per sale, pay per registrations)

Income 3 - Adsense ( Pay per click - UPS club)

Now...do it over and over and over again.
