Put all Your travel expenses as
business expenses into Your tax calculation.
You are only going to Crete for creating this web site. All Your family members are only with You to have cheap easy to use photo models on the journey.
And imagine the face of the tax controll clerk, when You proof him, that Your Crete journey web site makes so much money, that he can nothing do against Your declaration, that it's business expenses.
My last spain travel was financed by a realtor sending me there to make photos from spanish real estate for vacation.
I have car service stations as my clients.
I go there to service, make some photos to
increase their web sites and so the bill is paid.
I have only to pay the lease for my car, because I was unable to persuade Seat to give me the car for advertising.
Even my new winter tyres are the thank You of a car service station for my very successfull internet campaign for new winter tyres.
I know that Adsense bucks are only Adsense bucks when they appear on my bank account balance, but things are looking good :)
I'm all excited having booked our first holiday away from the UK in a decade!
Congratulations david_uk! I'm going to let the rest of our team know about this- truly awesome that you're doing so well with AdSense. I hope you have a blast in Crete, and soon California!
I remember signing up to adsense when it first came out, my site did about 3000 pageviews a day and even though i couldn't add adsense to all pages i was happy at the money i was getting. Now nearly 2 years later i'm getting days were i'm doing 2 million pageviews/day. I quit my day job because of adsense over a year ago and now i'm traveling some place new every few weeks. Adsense rocks!
Started Adsense: November 1, 2004
Finally made it into UPS Club: Jan 31, 2005 1:25pm with hours to spare! Yippeee!
After paying off most of our backed up credit card balances this month (with December's earnings), we're planning a large customer appreciation/company anniversary party next month (perfect timing) and, assuming things continue as currently, probably a couple week vacation to Ireland for 2 in April or May with what the IRS doesn't make off with.
Adsense DOES work. I found a few key tips on this forum and even more on the Adwords forum, to be EXTREMELY (as in 'breakthrough') enlightening. Would have taken a LOT longer without them. But don't blindly believe EVERYTHING you read either especially if it seems to work against your own results. Be patient and don't be afraid to experiment or to contact support when things look like they're totally botched and something is not working like it should for a long time (sometimes it's NOT your own fault). It also requires some careful study, close tracking, detailed statistical analysis and dedicated hard work at first (8 hrs a day for a couple months in our case), maybe even a little luck, and can be quite frustrating at times, so it MIGHT not be entirely suitable for the more squeamish. :-)
Good Luck all!
