As discussed here before sudden spikes in CTR and earnings could be as a result of Google dumping clicks and earnings they've witheld from previous days.

On an account with very stable CTR and effective CPM I'm today seeing a jump much higher than on normal dumps. With normal dumps the CPM figure drops over the course of the day. That's not happening today. It started at 200% of the highest CPM ever. And it's going up.

Just wondering if I'm the target for something. :( Has anyone else had a er, dump today?

The reverse is happening here. Wanna trade websites? :)

Macro - Wish I could say the same.

Lowest ever here and getting a little frustrated.

I always seem to have a day or two of forgettable returns before I get my dump.
Right now I'm getting some forgettable ads. I'm wondering if there is a link between the poor ads and the poor returns.

swoop, you wouldn't want to trade places if there's something funny going on and the account gets closed ;)

I got one yesterday - about the third time its happened in the last week or so. V low stats then abnormally high cash per click.

I was thinking about this last night and wondered if maybe G have tweaked their algo for fraudulent clicks making it necessary for more manual investigations.

This is of course all supposition...

Nothing unusual in my stats today.

Thanks for all your replies, guys. CTR & eCPM have stabilised now at just over 200% of average. I have had about 10 days of slightly, ever so slightly underpar eCPM. I put it down to vagaries of advertisers. If that's not the case and Google is playing catch-up then my figures for the month are going to uncannily steady compared with previous months.

One other thing - it's just a guess but it may be the case that multiple "dumps" on the same day do happen.

Also, this is good news for anybody showing lower figures recently. You may have a bonus coming your way. :)
