This is my first holiday season with Adsense.

So how long does the holiday season last?

Beginning in the very start of November Impressions, CTR, and eCPM took a leap up.

Impressions have dropped back a bit, but CTR and eCPM are still up way up.

I'm trying to figure out why? The hard part is that I made a few changes to the site at the start of Nov. also. So I don't know how much of the increases are related to that, and how much is the holiday bump. In general, my traffic pattern, a seasonal bump followed by a slight drop off, fits the same pattern as previous years. But the "bump" has been much greater, and the drop off much smaller than before.

I thought maybe those of you who have been around longer might have some idea of how long the "holiday season" lasts.

I know that the category makes a big difference, but I thought I'd ask anyhow.

There's no single rule. It really does depend on the category, the content, and the audience.

For my site (an editorial site devoted to European travel), traffic and affiliate revenues usually slack off in late November or early December and pick up rapidly after the first of the year. AdSense revenues are more stable, possibly because advertisers are trying to get a leg up on their competitors before the post-New Year's Day rush.
