I am redesigning a site that shows Ads with Adsense (I havn't used adsense before). Some pages on the site are behind password access. Is it possible for Adsense deliver on-topic ads to pages that are password accessed?

No ofcourse not.
Unless you can arrange something so the Adsense bot sees exactly the same page.

How about putting the ads on a framed page (with the right content) so that frame-page is not password protected, and use that frame in a frame-set that includes the password protected page?
