Does this violate Adsense TOS?

Placing search box in error pages.

Just confirming with you guys, I looked at the TOS and if my interpretation is correct it doesn't say it's not allowed.

It only says:

(v) display any Ad(s) on any error page, registration or "thank you" page (e.g., a page that thanks a user after he/she has registered with the applicable Web site),

Only ads are not allowed in error pages. Whenever search box is not to be allowed it's explicitly indicated.

no?

I think the word Ad is synonymous with "Ad Unit"?

Isn't the search box a type of "ad unit"?

You should probably send Google an email to make sure, they will tell you directly if it is OK or not.

Got info on this...

At this time, google said that their program policies do not permit publishers to place either Google ads or search box code on non-content pages, such as error
pages.
