Placing AdSense on a previously banned site

Dangerous?

Hello,

I just purchased a very nice website with lots of good, unique content (a natural fit for AdSense). The previous webmaster was running a couple of other competing ad networks which makes me wonder if he has been banned by AdSense.

If so, would I be placing my own AdSense account in jeopary by placing my code on it? The site is well worth the money I paid even without AdSense on it, but I think it would do very well with the program.

In a nutshell, if a publisher is booted from the program, are the sites that ran his AdSense code banned as well?

Thanks.

I just received confirmation from the former owner that he was indeed booted from AdSense (I didn't ask why). Should I keep my AdSense code off of it?

Perhaps you should contact G and explain the situation to them. See what they say.

Yes, they have a manual block placed on them, so AdSense will not display, no matter whose publisher ID was used.

You can try using the preview tool. I have sometimes found that the preview tool will not display ads on the site, but a e-12345678 (I can't remember what the exact numbers are).
