Encouraging fraud? How to protect?

Channels enable publishers to distinct CPM. I have seen CPM's that are outrageously high. Wouldn't those encourage some publishers to arrange for fraud on exactly those units, hence destroying that value?

While it's nice to have those units running, how could one protect their value if this risk is so obvious? It would be G's task of course. Does anyone think they focus on the big value units more?

Are you speaking of high CPM of itself, or high CPM resulting from high CPC? The largest potential for fraud is with high CPC ads. But either way, whether you're fraudulently generating a lot of low CPC clicks for a high CPM, or fraudulently generating a lot of high CPC clicks for the same result, my guess is that you have to be pretty clever to get away with it over any significant period of time.

I would hope so, not sure though. I wouldn't like to see those couple of really high paying units go away just because advertisers are cheated upon.

I feel kindoflike with my favorite hockey team right now. Who garantees me to bring those boys back safely from Europe after the lockout?

I hate to NOT be in control over me steak before dinner. I might as well have an empty plate if G can't take out the fraudsters. Can they?
