Banner at top and bottom of page

Can you put a Google ad at the top and bottom of a web page?

I've read through the TOS and am still a bit confused. I currently have a Google banner ad (with 4 thingies - what are they called? - in the banner) at the top of a page.

I want to know if I can also place a banner at the bottom of the page so that when someone's finished reading an article the banner will appear there as well?

Is this allowed?

Also are there any advantages/disadvantages to doing this?

Yes you can put the adsense code at the top and bottom of the page in fact you can add up to three ad layouts per page

The down side is if there are no ads for that particular topic then you may see public service ads (PSA's) on the second two ad slots because the first ad slot on the page takes priority, what you can implement is your own alternative adverts or use the collapsing ad units to show nothing

One change to the above comment I made earlier, the first ad will show PSA's but the other two will show a blank space but not PSAs

I think they're called ADS :p

If you run into a problem of not having enough ads, try using only one or two ads per block. This way you still show ads insted of PSA's

thanks guys. i've tried it with 2 banners with 4 ads in each banner and it seems that they are always full with no blanks.
