Adsense smartpricing causes losses to adwords

After last week dramatic and unmotivated reduction (around 60%) of my ADSENSE earnings, to compensate the loss, I had to suspended 60 per cent of My adwords campaigns that were paid with adsense earnings.

so the smart pricing will affect google too.

I'm getting the same ads and the same amount of clicks so I suspect smart pricing is just a scam to reduce earnings

No, it's a mechanism to bring costs into line with value for advertisers.

The "smart pricing" discounts may reduce earnings for publishers, but they also reduce earnings for Google. Fortunately, Google--unlike some publishers--understands that long-term success depends on giving advertisers value for their money.

The lowering of earnings have been so big and sudden that simply I can't believe is done correctly.

Over the last week, I've noticed a dramatic drop in earnings as well. Seems to be same ads running, same clickthru rate, just much worse earnings per click.

Who knows why, I just hope it does not last...

I had my best day of the month yesterday, but I'm not drawing any general conclusion from that. For everyone who's up one day (or one month), there's likely to be another publisher who's down. That's the nature of a volatile market where so many factors come into play: e.g., different advertisers, different keywords, seasonal variations, smart pricing, changes in a site's mixture of search-engine referrals, etc.

There have been numerous threads about what can cause a drop in earnings.

Like, EFV, I've had a very good month so far. What's to be learnt from that? That the phenomenon you refer to is not universal and if others are not experiencing a drop it's not an Adsense wide issue. It's local to you or your subject area or _____ (you fill in the blanks). That is good news. Because now you know that it is within your control to make changes/add content/diversify etc.

So EFV has my money! Well, his site is much more popular so I am guessing he has a lot of other people's money too. Arrrrghhhhhhh

the changes have been made after 6 month of continuos drop, and the earnings were good again up until last week .

I have content and clicks , I even have limited to one block per page, but to no avail, they reduced my earnings again. They must have eliminated the good paying ads.

They must have eliminated the good paying ads.

I would have seen it as "some advertisers in one of my high paying channels have reduced their ad spend" rather than thinking Google reduced the payout. But, hey, you are entitled to your theories ;)

Based on your theory that it's Google's fault you can't, of course, do anything about that. So, you have no choice but to live with the lower earnings. Sorry about that. Hope you find something better in due course.
