Then this overview of a response I got from the (ever helpful) Adsense team may help.

Paraphrased:

If you sign up for the advertising professionals program and use the same logon for an Adsense account then our system is broken.

When logging into Adsense change your login name to include +client.

E.G. Normal logon = [e-mail]

New bodged logon = [e-mail]

I'm happy they fixed the problem but was concerned that an email wasn't sent out to everyone when they became aware of the bug (though to be fair I may have been the first to report the problem)

I hope this helps take away those fears that you've lost all your Adsense income. I was petrified in the short term as I couldn't log in but over the moon to see an answer to the problem.
