PSAs on index page only

I've just set up a blog for someone, and I've got ads showing on the individual pages but not on the front page (which has all these individual posts on it). It's not really tightly focused, but no less focused than other blogs I've done where I have had ads showing on the index page.

Any ideas?

Chances are that when PSAs showed up, there was a stop word problem on that page. You can either trigger a mediabot visit by changing your ad unit size (you can change it back after) if you think the stop word issue has been corrected, or you can wait for mediabot to stop by again.

Thanks Jenstar

I've removed what I think might be causing it, but after reading some of those threads I think I might be better off displaying affiliate ads on the main page and saving Adsense for the more targeted and commercial pages.

My experience with this problem....

On a homepage that couldn't possibly have any stop words on it that I could imagine, I continually had the problem of psa's on the homepage (for months), but ads on all the other pages. I tried changing the ad formats, etc. to no avail. Then one day, a member of my family went to the site (computer sitting next to mine on my network), and as I looked over her shoulder, I said, hey, you've got ads on that page! After explaining why that excited me, I then went back to the site on my computer, and ads were there too! Have had ads ever since. Don't know if it was coincidence, or a cacheing thing, or what. In any case, ask around and see if you might be the only one seeing the psas.

Also, check the preview tool, incase it is a geotargeting issue.

You can also try setting up an individual channel just for the home page and see what comes up for that channel. It could be that others are seeing targeted ads there.

IMO this stuff about the importance of stop words is greatly exagerrated. How often do we really normally use stop words? I know I don't and would have no reason to do so.

Do not see this issue having anything to do with stop words on the page as some here often say, but that may be a reason on somewhat rare occasions.

Have run into index page displaying either PSA or nonsensical ads numerous times on a number of websites whereas the sub-pages had good relevant ads, even though the index page had no stop words.

IMO a more likely reason than stop words may be the index page has not been indexed recently or completely for some odd reason, even though the other pages have.

Another likely reason could very well be caching of an older index page whereas other pages have not been cached at all, or freshly cached.
