Do you think there's an amnesty for banned members since google went public?

A site I visited before which I think was banned from google suddenly has adsense once again.

I thought if your site was banned, google has your site listed somewhere in their database so that no adsense ads originating from the root url will be displayed?

Unlikely. Perhaps they just had a succesful appeal.
In a strange way(or at least it will seem strange to the adsense devotees) personally I wouldn't go back either through re-applying or even by invite. Happy the way things are with other companies.
