Excluding some countries from displaying AdSense banners

For readers in USA: AdSense banners should be visible, for users in UK not.

Is it possible to switch off displaying of AdSense banners for some countries for example for UK (if user observes my website from IP address that lies in *.uk domain)?

As far as I understand, AdSense will take care of this for you.

So a user from the UK should only see UK ads and a user from the US should only see US ads..

You would need to use an ad serving script that allows geo-targeting, so you could display AdSense to non-UK visitors, and something else to UK visitors. This is not something you can do within the AdSense script itself.

My personal observation here would be that some advertisers choose to advertise across borders. One of my UK advertisers targets his advertising in several EU countries (and wider) due to his location near Heathrow airport. Another UK advertiser doesn't. Some US advertisers seem to target the entire planet.

There might be reasons to block ads intended for other countries, and there are also equally good reasons that advertisers choose to market in a wider area. Is there a specific reason you want control in this area?
