Given that we are now permitted to run more than one AdSense ad unit per page, does this mean that we are permitted to run on the same page both Adsense plus google ads delivered through a third party ad network such as Fastclick?

Probably not, The multiple ads only apply to Google Adsense ads. Time to email Google.

Hmmmm. Interesting point. My alternative ads are set to show fastclick rather than PSA's. I wonder if having two units on one page with one showing adsense, and the other defaulting to fastclick is a TOS violation?
I haven't seen this actually happen, but theoretically it might.
