Why always consistent stats in past but now very choppy?

After being in Adsense more than 1-yr (with many websites online on a wide variety of misc subjects) my stats have always been amazingly consistent until a few mos ago. Stats and Income were so steady I could easily predict with high degree of accuracy (often within $5 - sometimes my prediction was within $1) what my income would be for tomorrow or even for this afternoon based on past historical data for the same day of the week.

Typically Mon thru Thurs were all about equal days with a small decline on Friday and then more of a drop on Weekends. In addition, the daily income was incredibly smooth (with a small downtrend as the week progressed) with rare aberration days that I recall. However, starting a few mos ago the pattern changed quit a lot where now Mon or Tues are always good income days, then a big decline usually takes place starting Wed thru Fri with an even greater drop Sat and Sun.

To summarize, Mon & Tues are about the same and sometimes better than in the past. (This past Tues set a record for me). Wed & Thur are not too good anymore vs Mon-Tues (in the past Wed-Thur were about the same as Mon-Tue), Fri Sat Sun are significantly worse than in the past, with income sometimes dropping off almost 50%.

In addition, the daily income was always very smooth with a slow downtrend thruout the week but still very predictable and steady. Now the downtrend is much more pronounced and sharp and also very choppy with sudden surges on some days and also huge drops on some days. No pattern noticed there as the aberration days may happen on any day of the week.

These observatiosn are based on bottom line Income only. As far as Total Impressions and Number of Clicks go they are up nicely for the week/months total vs the past stats (but CTR is lower overall). Regarding average weekly or monthly income that is basically the same for a long time with almost no variation.

Overall I am quite happy with Google and think they are great, its just that the very choppy data vs the steady stats from before seem quite odd. Anyone else notice this trend or can guess why this happened?

My AdSense income as far as what I'm receiving per click has really falled off since about late August. However, I anticipated this, as I would fully expect many advertisers that frequently show up on my site to reduce their ad campaigns beginning now. My site is rather seasonal in nature - with summer being the "prime time."

Most of the ads shown on my site are for services - travel servies, stay at this hotel, fish with me, etc...All of these travel services primarily focus on the short summer season here in Montana. As such, I saw a nice uptick in EPC beginning in March as these companies ramped up their campaigns to get clients/customers for the upcoming summer. Now that summer is over (at least where I live), advertisers are likely to spend far less on their campaigns since it is too late to get new clients/customers for this year and a bit too early to get new clients/visitors for next year.

So, if your watching your EPC go down, look at the type of ads shown on your site. If the ads are primarily seasonal in nature, the change of "seasons" can explain much.

And, like you, my EPC is at the lowest on Saturdays and Sundays, too. Always has been this way on my site, at least. I suspect many advertisers suspend their campaigns on the weekend since they may not be around to manage it - resulting in lower EPC's.
