If u use Mozilla Firefox instead of IE ur stats will be much more up to date.

At least for me. My mozilla stats are always much more up to date then my IE ones. Don't know why through.

If someone were to speculate that the browser could affect the numbers, I would tell them they were smoking crack.

But if you say it's true, I don't have any reason to doubt you ... except that it's pretty darn peculiar, don't you think?

Yup. I don't understand it myself. U should try it. Check your adsense stats with ie and then at the same time with mozilla.

Maybe its a bug or something.

To test it yourself, u can download fire fox from this page

I do not think that is the case but I know that AdSense statistic pages seem to have a bug that make it show different versions of the statistics history on different accesses done at the same time.

This suggests that AdSense servers pool keep inconsistent copies of the statistic page caches, probably not expiring at the same time.

This is noticeable just by reloading the statistics page. You do not need to switch browsers to see this.

georgegeek,

the new ie version will show you tomorrow's statistics. but because physicists and philosophers objected to causality problems inherent in such a situation, microsoft made sure it was someone else's statistics and that you wouldn't know whose.

Likely due to improved cache negotiation in Firefox/Opera/etc over the cache negotiation of IE. The newer browsers are better at figuring out if a page is "old" or not.

As I mentioned in another post...
To get current stats just select a specific date range other than any standard date range. Then select a different range the next time you visit stats page.. works for me.. IE 6

Likely forces a new query.

I use both Firefox and IE. The stats are always the same regardless of which browser I use.

I find the stats are higher if I check in the afternoon instead of the morning.

you guys may know this already, but checking 'month to date stats' will often show you more current stats for today than checking 'today's' stats.

also, if you copy and paste your stats into text editor, you can actually tweak your stats to your liking.

Yeah I've tried that, but at the end of the month my cheque didn't match with my tweaked stats.

A friend has a hacked beta copy and I can confirm that you can see your stats up to a week in advance.

Unfortunately, I am seeing another big drop in CPM next week :(

Sure enough I am getting stats quicker as well.

Plus I have never used firefox and it is a nice little browser.

I've found that it helps to close all open browser windows, then go back and check the stats (using IE)

I think that sarcasm may have been a bit premature.

I wouldn't have believed it... but I'm seeing this effect too.

I don't think it is premature. I absolutely believe the "effect" exists. Adsense results can be cached and different browsers have different default caching rules.

Perhaps the sarcasm stems from a different source.

If I do "show all time" stats it will show the most updated version of my stats.
