It seems that Google can place Adsense ads on my protected pages.. how does its bot access these pages?

If the bot cannot access the page, you're likely to receive an email instructing you to remove the code from the page. It's against the TOS...

Probably the it's giving you ads relevant to the content of your site in general, as opposed to the protected pages in particular. If your whole site is on one topic then this is okay. (I'm assuming this protected page is protected on the server-side, rather than just being hidden at a funny URL). You could possibly make the site accessable only to the Google MediaBot, not sure what the TOS says about this tho.

Crawling password-protected pages can be done. However, you'll need to grant our bot access to crawl these pages. I'd write into adsense-support@google.com to get specific crawler information.
