Maximum no of ads on a page

I have a leaderboard, skyscraper, pop up and 300 x 250 box along with adsense. Am I voilating adsense TOS? Also does adsense penalise for showing more than 4 ads including adsense?

YOu can show a maximum of three adsense ads. The TOS also mention that you can't show any "competitive" ads, i.e. something similar to adsense.
They don't specify any no. of ads that you can display, but say that a page should not have "excessive" advertising. So as long as your page has quality content, you'll be pretty safe.

Shouldn't that read "... maximum of 3 Adsense ad panels"?
So, if you stacked 3 skyscrapers (seen it), wouldn't that be a maximum of 15 Adsense ads per page (5 ads in each panel)?

I think he/she means 3 adsense panels... it would make no sense for just ads because some adsense panels have 4 ads in them!

Starting today, I'm seeing 5-ad ad units (600px skyscraper). I wish they'd design a bigger skyscraper ad unit for people with LONG pages.

the 5 ad skyscraper has always been there. we've been using them since last year. they follow IAB's guidelines on ad format, and I don't think IAB has designed loooooong skys that can hold from 10-20 ad panels.

morpheus, there's a section in the AdSense policies on pop-ups. Some are allowed, some are not. One criterium is that the popup should not appear over the Adsense ads.

You can put three 5 ad skyscrapers all along the long page below each other for a 15 ad string. You might not get them all filled though.
