Second AdSense Unit Fails To Show

Original disappears, new one performs

I added a tower to a site where I had blend-in ad boxes.
Both show fine at the homepage.

Oddly: the orignal ad (unchanged) does NOT show at all other (lower) pages anymore but the new (tower) does.

Anyone with the same experience? Thanks for helping.

Does the new tower appear first in your source code? AdSense gives priority to the first ad unit in the source code, so if there are only enough ads for one ad unit, it will show in that one, even if it is the "new" one.

Correct, BUT: the homepage shows 8 ads (2x4) and the secondary pages the same first 4 (same topic, similar density, theme), why all of a suden do they not find the other four as for the hp?

I have the same issue. Sometimes ads appear on the second unit, sometimes they do not. All I do know is that I am taking off the new units as my EPC has never been so low. Today (sat) has been the worst day I have ever had with adsense, to the point where it is a joke.

Adsense says that the 2 ad units will show different ads, which means one of the 2 will get the lowest paying ads. Personally, I would've preferred both units showing the same ads, so if a reader misses them at the top, he'll see them again at the bottom.

But of course Google doesn't want double-serving....

On second and third unit I haven't seen any ads at all, not even PSA's. I've added code two days ago

Strange:

1st box 4 ads - 2nd box none

Change:

1st box smaller to show 2 ads, works - 2nd still empty

Although there are at least 4 ads available the second box does not show anything no matter how the 1st box is configured.

This IS a glitch.
