Websearch commentary from this forum was very negative last month . . .

Any comments from people who continue to run with it?

1) How does it perform EPC / CPM wise versus your regular adsense ads?

2) And can you "populate" the search box with the theme of your page? (I keep seeing people do this on sites) - I was not sure if it was against TOS

I have not had much luck with the search, but I do know those who are doing well with it.

Populating is against the terms/policies but I do see it done. I have also seen pages with "Our top searches" or "Didn't find what you are looking for? Try these" and then underneath is a list of "big money keyword" "super high paying keyword" etc which is linked to the AdSense for Search results page. This is against the terms/policies as well, but I haven't seen any sort of crackdown on this yet (and no publishers have posted here about being told to stop doing it, lol).

AdSense for Search (the new and improved name, as of today) definitely seems to have mixed results for different people. But there is also the possibility that some of those who are having the most success are violating the terms/policies in some way. I am sure I could get a huge CTR/EPC if I was suggesting searches for "big money keyword" to my visitors too :)
