I just bought an existing domain and transferred it over to my account. I put up adsense on it, and no ads show - it's blank. Been like this for a week. Any idea why? I have this in the robots.txt - it always worked on my other site.

could this site have been blocked by Adsense?

As in.... the account associated with the site was canceled... I heard that the block remains.

Try the adsense preview tool

Yes, a block is placed on a domain that has either been suspended or a domain that had been used to apply for AdSense but was declined. This will result in a blank space being shown where the AdSense should be.

If it is a suspension issue, I am not sure if you will be able to run AdSense on it. If it was a declined issue, you may need to rework whatever the initial problem was, in order to meet AdSense requirements to show ads.

Regardless, you will need to contact AdSense to get it sorted.

But for peace of mind, double check your robots.txt syntax to make sure you have it right to allow the bot ;) Or remove the line completely to be sure (you don't need to have it).
