Recently I had joined a network which serves targeted banner ads. Just out of curiosity a clicked on a banner on my site and I got the warning saying "Please do not do this again your account will be disabled". It appears the system noted my ip address which I used to check the stats. When the click generated from my IP I got the warning.

Google tell you in the TOS and when you sign up not to click on your own AdSense ads.

Yes I am aware of that. But it is possible that you may click on your own site.

Once in a blue moon possibly, by accident.

But one click every six months by mistake is not going to get you kicked from AdSense.

Yes... but I check my own stats:
- at work (DSL, fixed IP)
- at home the weekend (dial-up, random IP)
- anywhere I find a telephone line to plug my notebook when I travel (who knows)
