AdSense in pop-up?

Is this allowed?

Are AdSense ads allowed in pop-up windows? For example, when someone clicks a download link on my site, can I pop up a window with a description of the download that says "Please wait... Download should begin soon", etc. and also include AdSense ads in this window? There will be content in the window as I will be including the description of the download, so it should be targeted. Is this OK as far as the TOS is concerned? What if it wasnt a pop-up window, and was a new page?

Thanks
Aaron

No. You cannot use adsense in popups/popunders, its against google TOS.

I wouldn't "pop up" a new window to put ads on, even one that is intended to be full-screen. But when the user begins a download you should be able to direct the main (i.e. current) window to a new page. I don't see why that would be a problem.

Thanks. That is what I decided to do.

P.S. The Program Policies specifically prohibit putting AdSense on "thank you" pages. So make sure the result page is a real page with real content - not just a paragraph or two without any outbound links.
