Unable to get targetted ads for my common keyword

This problem is a little tricky to describe without saying the specifics, but I'll give it a try.

I have a site with info about XYZ. XYZ is a high-paying keyword, but it's an acronym, and "xyz" also happens to be a very common English word (like "dog" or "big").

The problem is, adsense does not show a single ad for XYZ, I think because it is such a common English word. There are plenty of ads for it when I search XYZ on google. I get ads targetted to other less common keywords on my site.

Is there anything I can do? Adsense doesn't seem to know that I'm talking about "XYZ" the acronym instead of "xyz" the three-letter English word.

try it with a combination of words, as in context. and emphasize more on content-based keywords meaning to make it so that you do not over do keywords to force targetted ads. it took sometime until i started to see 'highly' targeted ads on some of my sites.. so patience would be a key too.

Try using the actual words instead of the acronym. Maybe there are ads for the actual phrase.
