I just started a site a couple of weeks ago. It is for work and geared towards a smaller user base. I am new to this so I am pretty clueless on what I am doing with this

I have applied for adsense not knowing if I will use it or not. I dont expect this site to get 400+visitors a day and I assmue that most that do will be returning people.

my question is will adsense even be worth it for a site like mine?

mike

thanks "daveatifg", didnt read the TOS, wont do it again

sure it's worth it. It doesn't cost you anything, it's pretty unobtrusive unless you make it otherwise.

Nothing to lose. Why wouldn't you try?

and welcome to webmasterworld Lost!

you might want to edit your post as it is against the TOS to drop urls

sorry about the URL, it wasnt my intent to advertise, thanks for removing it.

As far as it being free, etc I understand that but will I actaually see anything from it , maybe covering the hosting fee, etc or am I hoping for to much?

I think I might have to read up on it to see how much people make, etc and at what level.

Most of us started our sites from nothing and built them up.

I was in your boat not long ago, and now i am getting hundreds of thousands of visitors a month and good money from adsense.

Adsense not only rewards you for your work, it pushes you to make more content pages. Use adsense, at the least you will make enough to cover hosting.

Look at it this way for a moment.
It doesn't cost anything to set it up and whatever it makes might pay for your hosting at the end of the year.
Equally, it doesn't cost anything to do nothing but at the end of the year you will have nothing.

Ok, having read the do nothing, get nothing reply I guess that answers that..You guys are right, something is better than nothing

I will put in as soon as I get approved (if I get approved). I have to read these boards more as far as where to place, etc. Then maybe I will figure out how to get it picked up by search engines, etc..

After finally making up my mind to use it I get the email saying my site doesnt meet Googles "program criteria".

1st, I wonder why?

2nd, that kinda sucks....

Oh well, have to try again in a few months
