Different SEO and Adsense-optimization of a page

How to direct SE's one way, Adsense another?

I have pages that get many visitors from SE's on a particular keyword (say: cat). Unfortunately, there aren't many relevant ads on that topic. However, there are good ads on a more general keyword (say: pets).

What I'd like to do is keep the SEO on cat and add some hints to the page that will direct Adsense to pets. Any suggestions on how to do that?

I already have bread crumbs on cat containing a link to pets. But that clue doesn't seem to be 'strong' enough for Adsense.

Give more clues!
Increase the KW Density.
Or create addtl. pages just targeting the desired KW.

I think the question is how to get them "off" that page and to the next "$$$" one ---

take adsnese off the low $ page and put 1 text link in a good spot to move the people
