Keywords that adsense serves adverts on

earnings will be much effected

i have this query in mind my for quite some time now.

Now if my page is say on mobile phones

There are several keywords on mobile phones on my webpage that adsense bot will notice.

Now the keyword,

mobile phones is paying say $ 1 a click
mobile phone is paying only 15 cent
mobile ringtones is paying 5 cents

now what keyword will be picked up on my page, there are three of these on my pages, but just phones and phone will make a big difference in earnings?

How do you read this situtation?

It is almost impossible to know which ones will show up. They may all show up at one time or another. The site will fluctuate all the time. My sites are all over the place. I even have days where I have a record low number of impressions but have my highest earnings. Of course it is a real bummer when you have a record number of impressions but low earnings. Some days I have the same number of impressions and clicks but make a lot less per click. My adsense swings by as much as $150 a day in both directions. I just have to go by the month to see my average daily earnings. The daily numbers are no way of knowing of how much to expect for the future. When I first started I would have one good day and multiply that number times 30 and think I was going to make a ton of money. Then the weekend came and smacked down the average to a lot less. My weekedns go down as much as 50% sometimes.

If all three keywords bring up the same page, then you'll get all three prices. I don't understand the problem, though. If you optimise the pages for just the $1 term, you may not get more clicks.

well i too have long time use of adsense, but its a big issue to what keywords they are taking from pages.

And Ogletree, i also have lot of ups and downs, and many people face that, but the point still is that if we are able to catch adverts for a keyword of $ 1, or a keyword of 15 cents, i am sure you all have also made some search about the how much keywords are paying and its just a slight variation in keywords that creates a lot of variation in Payouts.

Now i can bear it if there were small no. of clicks, but its difficult to face it, if the clicks are more and one is in a competitive industry where payouts are high and yours are way too less.

The swings in EPC can also be from "which" ad is clicked on - if your adsense format displays 4 ads - and day 1 the "more expensive" ad does well - your EPC increases . . .. if they keep clicking on the "lowest $ ad" in the format you drop

its not matter of which ad is clicked, i know there can be much variation.

but i wish to ask, about the keywords and the way adsense ads are served.

I mean what will they pick from a page with keywords

mobile phones
mobile phone
cellphone
cell phone

all these keywords vary a lot in CPC

IMHO, the ADBOTTM is smart enough to learn which ads get clicked on the most and will start serving those ads throught the site at a higher frequency.

...and then will discount the price paid per click according by some other algorithm.

Better to spend you time on traffic and relevancre to conversion.
