I have a niche site with adsense with decent earning. So I decided to create another site with part of dmoz data. I have put adsense on the new site which has thousands of pages about two weeks ago. After that I saw consistent delay of stats and dropping of EPC of my old site's channels. (new site only makes a few dollars a day) First I didn't know what caused this and thought it was a adsense-wide delay. After I read this post
[webmasterworld.com...] I thought my new site might be the culprit. So I dropped adsense from every page of my new site. Immediately after that, I saw my stats was uptodate and EPC coming back to what it was before I add the new site.

These may be a coincidence, but I believe not. These observations may be useful to some of you.

The post you cited said that the impact of adding "trash" pages is the lowering of their EPC -- nowhere does it mention that it is the cause of the delay of stats.

Stats have been delayed 24 or 48 hours for many publishers. It has nothing to do at all with adding pages - whether trash or not.

As I said, after dropping adsense from trash pages, my EPC increased to what it was before and no more stats delays. I don't think it is a coincidence, especially the rising EPC.

It has nothing to do with stats. Many people with trash sites have very up to date stats with no delays at all. Stats normaly update by 6 AM PST for the previous day.
