I did not pay too much attention to adsense when it came out. It has only been
lately (2 days) that I actually took interest. I'm sure I missed the thread that
might have mentioned this but; does adsense affect in any kind of way your ranking?
Does google crawl your site more often?

I got accepted today but not sure if I should start my campaign. I just cracked
the top ten for couple of keywords that I have been aiming; for - so I'm abit hesitant to
touch anything.

As I understand it Google claim that the various bots are entirely separate.

In other words the crawling that is done for Adsense is only used for AdSense and not for ranking - you have to wait for their other bot(s) for that

My advice to you would be to go for it, I think you will be pleantly surprised by the returns.
