I'm thinking about signing-up with Google AdSense. My website has to do with NBA-Basketball stats. Google AdSense looks like a good solution for me. Your opinion? I'm curious about one think : what is the relation between pageviews and clicks on google ads, in your websites?

thanks in advance.

Hi jorje29;

First, welcome to WW. This is a great place to get good information.

On to your question.

The relationship between pageviews, or rather impressions and clicks is the CTR (click thru rate). That varies so widely between sites and topics that it's hard to make any kind of meaningful statement about what it might be. I'm not real sure that's what you were asking though.

Page views (how many times someone looks at your page) relate to ad impressions in that you should get an impression for each view of a page where you have the adsense code installed.

Impressions are each time the ad code is called. If you have an ad layout that shows one ad, it's one impression. If your ad layout shows 2, 3, 4 or 5 ads at a time in a single ad block, it's still one impression.

I am now going to make a site with basketball stats.

Just kidding.

Do you have some sort of advertising already? Chances are, you will be making more with adsense than anything else. This may be false, but it is the case with a large number of topics, so i would go with adsense.

Slap it on your pages and test it out for a month. I am sure you have traffic fluctuations on and off season, so this time of the year may be lower, but see how it works.
