I just came across a site that is running google adsense ads, but there is no "Ads by Google" appended to the advert - does anyone know if this is a different program? - Is there some different structured program where you don't have to display the header?

They are likely a premium partner. You can often verify by checking the source code to see if their JS code contains additional parameters. You can apply to become a premium partner [services.google.com] if you have over 20 million impressions per month.

hmmm, I thought that may have been the case - did take a look at their source and didn't see any different attributes - maybe the premium thing is based on the google_ad_client variable...
They claim 5 million pageviews a month on their stats stuff, so I don't think they're in the 20 mil club, but could be wrong.
