Ads on Domains you don't own

Are there any restrictions on placing ads on domains you don't onn? For example, maybe I'm a webmaster for someone, and they give permission to place my ads on their site.

Taking that a step further, what if they let me place ads, and then change ftp username and password on their site? In this situation there would be ads running that are no longer in my control.

Luckily, this hasn't happened to me yet, but I certainly see it could in the future. Any guidelines?

I do it and have not had any problems.

I designed a site for a SEO client and instead of payment I suggested that I run my adsense ads on his site.

The client spends around $60+ a day on adwords.

ha ha ;)

I received permission to place AdSense on a particular page from my site being replicated elsewhere.

It actually didn't go ahead but I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone doing it without Google's permission.

You could add javascript code which fetches google's javascript code from your domain. So if you don't want your ads anymore be listed on that domain, just remove the linked javscript code on your domain and you are done.

In the AdSense T&C you have to guarantee that "You are the owner of each Site or that You are legally authorized to act on behalf of the owner of such Site(s) for the purposes of this Agreement and the Program."

You can do it but you have to fax google a signed letter stating that you have been authorised by the domain owner for your ads to appear on their site.

If you contact google about this issue, they will tell you where to fax the letter and what it must contain.

The FTP issue isnt really one for google to get involved in. I suggest getting some kind of contract between you and the domain owner if you think there may be a trust issue between you.
