That is what competition is all about. You think how to increase your market share, which could often mean the loss of your competitors' market share. As has been pointed out here, G is preparing to battle Yahoo and whatever MSN is gearing up for.

They have this wide Adsense network. So why not use all these sites to make their brand more ubiquitous to the public? One person may not go to G homepage to search, but may go to your site.

Yup. And this is much more viable than the 2cent/search deal they had a long ago.

I think a lot of affiliates sites that are currently feeding PPC engines may switch to Searchbox.

I think this product is going to be very slow to get off the ground if it does at all.

It sounds like a lot of users are not impressed with the payouts, and i am certainly not impressed with about a dozen or so things i have talked about in other threads.

This should have been thought through a lot more, it looks like google is racing around finding ways to get more money in a hurry, and we all know that does not work.

Not impressed google, this search tarnishes your name quite a bit as far as i am concerned

I'm just wondering if this is going to force overture's hand .. and if MSN will compete as well.

I think it'll be nice to see three players fully going to head-to-head in this market.

Let's just hope they don't turn it into a cartel like visa/mastercard..
