Today i recieved an "account disabled for invalid clicks" email from Google.
No warning email before it...
I made no clicks because i have the googlesyndication ips disabled in my hosts file...
Something is broken at google but...
...life goes on :)
Hey people relax :)
They are not going to ban you for a single click. Now that they have more data to deal with they know it is statistically probable that there will be some "invalid clicks".
Coincidence?...
All customers, bet they large corporations or indivduals, are 'fickle'. At any moment they may leave your 'store' for absolutely 'unfair' reasons.
Unfortuantely if that one customer is the sum total of your client pool you are SOL.
Hopefull for publishers there will be more PPC players in the future.
p.s.
While it is painful for publishers it is certainly in the best interests of G and the Advertisters to have an absolute ZERO tolerance policy for questionable activity. I am sure that the amount of $$ a site generates for G comes into play in their decision making - how could it not? this is *business* after all.
When I am buying milk, if get the slightest hint (or even just a 'gut' feeling) that the milk might not be sanitary I won't buy it. I don't need to wait for lab results.
Do advertisers on the whole get "refunded"...
Yes, AdWords publishers do get refunds - sometimes after an advertiser inquires about unusual activity, sometimes on their own. I don't spend as much time in the AdWords forum as I do here, but I know I've seen at least a few threads there about refunds.
There was a thread recently where a webmaster said he had been asked to remove AdSense ads from a certain site on the basis that it "wasn't a good fit" for AdSense. This is all speculative, but it seems to me that's more like how Google would handle a simple case of extremely low conversions.
Ok I must have had no invalid clicks then, thanks steve :)
Actually, invalid clicks which are recognized quickly by Google may not be charged to your account in the first place in which case there wouldn't be a refund. I'm not certain of that though. If you want a more definitive answer you might try the AdWords forum. I wasn't clear earlier, but what I was really referring to was clicks that Google determined to be fraudulent. I hope that makes sense.
That i think Adsense does not ban for some accidental clicks? Well yes that is what i think even now that i am out of the game. So what? Does that means that i have clicked my own ads?
I don't understand your logic:
Mister X thinks they don't ban for accidental clicks.
Mister X gets banned.

Master X has clicked his own ads.
I don't believe we will ever get a person to say, "I admit it. I clicked on my own ads." Yet, I am confident SOME of the people who lost their accounts did indeed do so. I am not pointing the finger!
I don't think we are going to get anywhere here. It might be nice if you could do your best to provide some theories as to why you were cancelled, factornumberone.
Could a friend have been trying to help you?
Do other people use your computer?
Did you login to adsense from multiple computers?
Is it possible that you received a lot of clicks from a foreign country?
Was your CTR higher than 2%?
Is it not possible for you to just apply for a new adsense account with different details, especially as you say Google has basically screwed you out of a good source of income that you have earnt fairly.
Good luck with your appeal.
W.
It's really frustrating when you know that for two month you are having potential clients that click on the ads on your site to go to your competitor and got nothing for it.
But i'm happy to see that i'm not alone. And to the one that migth think that if i would have click on my own ads, just think about it, i would not get the trouble to write about it if i would know i did it!
