I just noticed this article featuring AdSense ads in a big cube box. I think Google should try this new ads dimension. It should be attractive to readers, and at the same time be rewarding to publishers.

Here's the URL where big cube ads appear.

If you have 20 million or more page views a day, Google will customize an ad box for you. (I'm sure the International Herald Tribune doesn't have that much traffic, but it's owned by The New York Times, which obviously does.)

It's actually 20 million page views per month, not per day :)

I have seen more and more of these custom boxes popping up on other sites, too, but I am also surprised by those who are NOT utilizing it, sites that must have more than 20 million page views per month.

I have a new goal for my web sites - increase traffic to 20 million page views a month!

I'm about 1% of the way there, so I have some work to do :-).

Oops. I must have been fantasizing about the future. :-)

I'm on target for 19 million 999,999.

I was at 19 million 999,998 last month but I can't seem to get over the hump. Probably caused by the musical chairs of Google Stopping the dance music with too few chairs.

I tried to get Google to customize a box for me but they said they won't talk to me until I hit that 20 million. Maybe after the summer.
