Happen to see this article posted by cagey1 over on the Adword forum. Since the topic is often discussed here, thought you would find it interesting.

We don't have all the answers, but we do have the data. By all indications, AdSense is working. Business-to-business (B2B) clients are also seeing great results. I've gone from skeptical to impressed. The combination of better targeting and Smart pricing delivers for many clients.

Just read this and while I mostly agree, I want to point out that even if there is potential in B2B adwords advertising in the future, the number of currently active B2B advertisers seems to be very small.

Just looked for the q suggested in the article

"Wholesale Cleaning Supplies"

from various geo-locations (gr, us, uk, de, it, es, cl etc).

From what I can tell from the sponsored-listings next to the G SERPs and my running Adsense in a B2B context for 1 month, practically none of the old-economy companies are using Internet advertising, so the most "relevant" ads, if any at all, are from B2B directories themselves.
